MPA professionals have many decades of capital raising experience in the public equity, public debt, private equity, venture capital, private debt, corporate banking and structured finance markets, and have successfully managed more than $30 billion of transactions.
MPA is registered as an Exempt Market Dealer (EMD) in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, through its partnership with US based Marco Polo Securities, is also able to access US capital markets. MPA maintains relationships for over 110 capital providers in North America, and has access to global private markets through its membership in IMAP.
Given this breadth of experience and access, MPA is able to provide capital raising clients with objective advice regarding the expected market reception for a particular issuer across a wide variety of markets and transaction structures. As a result, clients see MPA as a source of objective advice, rather than having a stake in any particular financing strategy. Once a strategy is selected, MPA serves as overall transaction advisor from initial preparation, through launch, short listing and financial close. Specific transactions have ranged from pre-IPO debt assignments, to structured finance transactions, to $50 million + private equity raises.
Mission driven entities, such as social housing providers, government-owned utilities, healthcare providers or First Nations, are sometimes faced with the prospect of engaging with the capital markets in order to assess, evaluate, and execute financing transactions. Given what is often a lack of prior financing transaction experience, this can be especially daunting. Throughout its history, MPA has been the preferred choice in these types of situations and has developed a unique ability to assist mission driven organizations through these processes.
